The Joy of welcoming new people!

As we sit with the names of new ‘colleagues’, we feel a rather raw human emotion, in sharp contrast to the tabular sheets on the computer screen. Every time we browse through the columns titled names, positions, and countries of origin a similar feeling gushes over us — the feeling of welcoming new lives into Cialfo. The magnanimity of a new life with its new ideas, dreams and ambitions is too big to be contained in one ‘cell’ of an excel sheet. At best, this report shows us the joys of successfully bringing in the best minds to the company.

Welcoming a new person into our enterprise is about welcoming new hopes, desires and ambitions and sharing our own goals and visions with them. This goes much beyond an employee simply working for a pay and making it a transactional relationship with your workplace. We feel overjoyed in welcoming motivated and super-energetic hustlers to our family.

One of the major focuses of Cialfo has revolved around welcoming top talent across engineering, product, data, marketing and growth to name a few. But our approach towards fulfilling this purpose has drastically changed in the last year. 2020 was a time for reflection, both personally and professionally, and we have tried to upgrade our employee experience and journey by reviewing and rethinking the basics.

With every new hire, we begin by asking :

  1. How can this job role be more meaningful and serve a grand purpose, for both the person and the company?
  2. How and by when will this person be able to grow the company and themselves within their respective roles?
  3. How can we allow our people to take more ownership of their work?
  4. How can we create an authentic work environment and encourage people to perform with passion?
  5. How do we find people who are comfortable in self-leadership and enjoy doing things their way?

We recently welcomed 14 such enthusiastic protagonists from across Singapore, India, Pakistan and the USA for our various departments who embody the qualities of being ‘faster’, ‘higher’, and ‘stronger’ as the name Cialfo stands for.

One of the most rewarding moments of on-boarding new talent is the experience of getting a chance to upgrade and develop the lives and careers of all our colleagues. It’s a gratifying feeling to provide a quality onboarding experience that eases the challenges of a new job and ensures that they are set up for success. On a more practical note, it’s also a direct indicator of how progressively we are growing and expanding.
