Compassionate. Driven. Inspiring. Meet Ann, our Growth Partnerships Manager from the beautiful city of Goa, India. From her beginnings as a counsellor to her current role as a Ciafolk, Ann is tireless in her mission to contribute to society. Currently, Ann works hard to connect Cialfo to K-12 schools in Nepal, Bangladesh and India. She also aids in student counselling and puts her passion for creative writing to use by helping the marketing team in content creation.
Ann’s journey towards becoming a Cialfolk was a natural one. During her time as a school counsellor, she worked at a school that used Cialfo. She fell in love with the company’s mission and vision and took the step to contact Swati, Director of the Operations Team, to express her enthusiasm about joining the team made up of like-minded individuals. In June 2019, Ann officially became part of the Cialfo family and has never looked back since!
Some of the attributes Cialfo’s clients love most about Ann is how warm, driven and accommodating she is. Going above and beyond, Ann always puts her clients first and does her utmost to provide them with support whenever they need it. She exemplifies one of Cialfo’s core values — “customer obsession”!
We will soon be celebrating Ann’s second work anniversary with us, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Ann credits Swati as well as the rest of the team for her amazing journey thus far. As a leader, Swati consistently communicates clear expectations, roles and responsibilities for each team member, and ensures that tasks are clearly delegated to avoid unclear boundaries and unnecessary confusion. Such transparency, clarity and team spirit enables Ann and her colleagues to reach out to one another when they require any support, even across countries and teams.
Cialfo is known for its diverse workforce that spans 19 nationalities across 5 countries, hence communication has been key to leverage on the team’s varied strengths and perspectives. Ann bonds with her colleagues through a common passion of bringing Cialfo to students around the globe and the mission of empowering schools, and enabling our end-users (students, counsellors, parents) via our platform.
Outside of work, Ann enjoys listening to classical music as a way to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the day. Although she’s a movie buff, she only likes watching films in the cinema and doesn’t watch television at home. Instead, she would much rather read or write — a walk on her balcony may even inspire a few short poems. During family time on the weekends, she enjoys baking or experimenting on new cuisines with them.
While her keen interest in creative writing meant that she considered pursuing it as a career, Ann ultimately decided that strategic communications, partnerships, in particular, is a field that she would love to explore, while writing became more of a hobby.
Asked to sum herself up in a single word, Ann laughed and replied, “workaholic”. To her, work keeps her alive and is something that is on her mind constantly because of her genuine passion for her job and consistent drive to make an impact in the wider community.
