Celebrating our Woman in Design

Starting off our #choosetochallenge series with Marisol De La Vega hailing from Argentina, our Senior UX Designer, an Aquarian and loves art and design.

What does leadership mean to you?

Leadership to me is about motivating a group of people to achieve a common goal. Leaders must have empathy, commitment, and perseverance as a way to motivate and encourage this group to achieve.

What is your leadership style like, how did you come to identify it and how did Cialfo support you on your journey?

I’ve had plenty of space and freedom in Cialfo to lead my team with empathy and commit to their success. I’ve come to understand that getting to know their bottlenecks is important in order to be able to solve them. I focus on enhancing and improving the skills of the designers.

What are the qualities and values of the company that you relate and identify with?

I like that everyone has the opportunity to contribute, is patiently heard, and that workspaces are respected.

Your strategies to make women achieve more prominent roles in their organizations?

What I learned is that we have to provide spaces for debate, listen to women’s voices. Good ideas are always thought to come from men. Give and receive feedback. Cialfo is one such organization which, has successfully created this culture!

A particularly vulnerable moment as a leader and how you transcended that?

I’m always conscious about the happiness of my team — any person leaving puts me in check and I always analyse if I could have done something better to prevent it. But I’ve also learned that it is important to holistically understand a situation a be attentive when it is still brewing and can be handled well within time.

Biggest takeaways from your association with Cialfo?

I’ve realized my potential to lead and confidently motivate other women to have more leadership positions in their companies.
